A integração entre conhecimentos de solo e vegetação é importante para compressão dos Biomas e as relações ecológicas existentes nestes. Tendo em vista a dificuldade no ensino integrado destas temáticas, propõe-se um exercício prático de análise que coloca aos alunos questões e dados reais sobre alguns pontos da região da microbacia do Ribeirão das Anhumas, em Campinas-SP. para que ocorra a transpiração (perda de água na forma de vapor) é necessário que a umidade relativa da atmosfera seja menor que a do solo. Quando plantas de milho são colocadas em solo bem molhado e em ambiente com umidade do ar elevada, a água é eliminada na forma líquida através de poros encontrados nas margens das folhas, denominados hidatódios.
