A forma do bico das aves é adaptada para a alimentação específica de cada espécie, permitindo a sobrevivência em seus habitats. Bicos longos e finos alcançam o néctar das flores, enquanto bicos curtos e robustos quebram sementes. Assim, o habitat influencia a diversidade de bicos, facilitando a captura de alimentos.

A Avenida Anhangüera, possuindo 30.000 km2 foi planejada para ser o principal espaço comercial da cidade, mas conta com um importante papel ambiental e paisagístico no sentido de melhorar o micro-clima do local, além de proporcionar um ambiente agradável para turistas e cidadãos goianienses. Um levantamento foi feito na Avenida Anhanguera, na cidade de Goiânia-GO, no sentido de apontar os principais problemas causados a arborização do local. Os resultados demonstraram que as árvores da Avenida Anhanguera necessitam de um manejo adequado às espécies ali existentes e melhoria na parte estrutural, a fim de que os problemas relacionados ao calçamento, rede elétrica e malha viária seja mitigados.

It may be confused with the Plush-crested jay (Cyanocorax chrysops), but while the last presents the crest in the back of the head, the yellow iris and a blue patch around the eyes, the Curl-crested jay presents the crest on the forehead, the red iris and the head is entirely black. 35cm Identification: when seen from below its body is basically white with the tip of the wings and a region around the eyes black. There is a gray area on the upper parts of the wings.
