Summary
This animation depicts growing branches representing all living organisms as evolution takes place. It is based on rRNA gene data, showing three major domains: Bacteria, Archaea and Eucaryota, as described by Carl Woese. At least one species from each domain is pictured after proper identification. Please note that trees based on other genes data may be quite different, and also that evolution is a theme of constant debate.
